How to change the name associated with your Microsoft account in Windows 11
- Click on the Start menu icon in the taskbar.
- Click on the Settings icon (gear-shaped) on the left side of the Start menu.
- In the Settings window, click on the “Accounts” option.
- On the “Accounts” screen, click on the “Your info” option.
- Under “Your info,” you should see your name and email address associated with your Microsoft account. Click on the “Manage my Microsoft account” link.
- This will open the Microsoft account page in your default web browser. Sign in with your Microsoft account credentials if prompted.
- On the Microsoft account page, you should see your name at the top of the screen. Click on the “Edit name” link next to your name.
- Enter the new name you want to use and click the “Save” button.
- Return to the Windows 11 “Your info” page by clicking the back button in your browser or using the Alt + Left Arrow keyboard shortcut.
- Return to the Windows 11 “Your info” page by clicking the back button in your browser or using the Alt + Left Arrow keyboard shortcut.
Note: If you’re using a local account in Windows 11, you can change the account name by going to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users, clicking on your account, and then clicking the “Rename” button.
