How to set up your cPanel email account on your iPad

A step-by-step guide on how to set up your cPanel email account on your iPad. These instructions are based on the iPad’s native Mail app.

  1. Open the ‘Settings’ App: Find and tap on the Settings app on your iPad.
  2. Select ‘Mail’: Once you’re in Settings, scroll down until you find Mail, and then tap on it.
  3. Add Account: Tap on ‘Accounts’, then tap ‘Add Account’. This is usually near the top of the screen.
  4. Choose Account Type: On the Add Account screen, you’ll see a list of popular email providers. Scroll down and tap on ‘Other’ to open the Other screen.
  5. Add Mail Account: Tap ‘Add Mail Account’, and then enter the following information:
    • Name: Enter your name.
    • Email: Enter your full email address.
    • Password: Enter the email account’s password.
    • Description: Enter a personal description for the email account.
    Then tap ‘Next’.
  6. Choose IMAP or POP: On the next screen, select either IMAP or POP. Most likely, you’ll want to select IMAP because it syncs your messages across all your devices.
  7. Incoming Mail Server Settings:
    • Host Name: This will be your domain name preceded by “mail.” like mail.yourdomain.com
    • User Name: This is your full email address.
    • Password: This is the password for your email account.
  8. Outgoing Mail Server Settings:
    • Host Name: Again, this will be your domain name preceded by “mail.” like mail.yourdomain.com
    • User Name: Again, this is your full email address.
    • Password: Again, this is the password for your email account.
After you’ve entered these settings, tap ‘Next’ in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  9. Verifying: Your iPad will now verify the settings.
  10. Enable & Save: After verification, ensure that Mail is set to ON and then tap ‘Save’. Your email account should now be set up and ready to use.

Remember to replace ‘yourdomain.com’ with your actual domain name. If you’re still having problems after trying these steps, I would suggest contacting your hosting provider, as there may be something specific to your account or server that’s causing an issue.

Please note: For the incoming and outgoing server settings, depending on the specific configuration of your cPanel email, the host name might also be the server’s IP address or a specific mail server address. If you’re not sure, you should check with your web host.
